Scholarships

The St. Thomas More Collegiate Knights of Old Alumni Association will award up to $1,000.00 in scholarships to a maximum of five students each calendar year, who best demonstrate the Alumni Association’s spirit and values. Eligible applicants are graduating STMC students (must attend grade 12 at the time of application) who have applied to an accredited post-secondary institution.

In selecting the successful candidates, three representatives of the Alumni Association’s Board of Directors will evaluate the applications based on the following criteria:

  • Alumni Association Involvement
Fulfilling the Knights of Old’s mission statement to coordinate events, activities and initiatives that will keep alumni and STMC connected, the successful candidate will have demonstrated support of the Alumni Association’s initiatives (e.g. volunteering at events, newsletter mail-outs, etc.).

  • Mentoring
Following the spirit of Blessed Edmund Rice, the successful candidate will have demonstrated an interest in mentoring, guiding, or teaching younger students (e.g. tutoring, grade 8 orientation, etc.)

  • Community Service
Following St. Thomas More Collegiate’s vision statement, that every Knight make a positive contribution to the earth and its people, the successful candidate will have served either the internal STMC community, or the broader community through positive contributions.

Scholarships will be awarded at STMC's Commencement ceremony.
