Academic Counselling

The STMC Academic Counselling Team is available to assist students and parents in developing and realizing post-secondary and career plans. All STMC students are encouraged to take advantage of the expertise and resources available in this department.

Scholarship Opportunities for the Class of 2010

STMC offers our Grads numerous scholarships.  Some require an application while others are awarded directly by the administration in consultation with the teaching staff.  A complete description of all of STMC's scholarships is available as a download on the left.  Applications for scholarship are also located there.

Course Selections for Students Entering Grades 10, 11 and 12 in September 2010.

2010 Course Selection Handbooks for students entering Grade 10, Grade 11, and Grade 12 at STMC are accessible by hitting the download link located on the left. The purpose of these handbooks is to provide a detailed look at the curriculum at STMC and to aid with the students course selection process. Three factors must be considered when viewing the document:

  • The requirements for graduation as outlined by the Ministry of Education's Grad Program
  • STMC's own graduation requirements and course offerings
  • The admission requirements for the various post-secondary institutions
  • Good luck students! Please contact the Academic Office if you would like additional consultation and advice.

On the left students and parents can also access and download a form which shows the course offerings for their respective grade level (10, 11 or 12) where they can do short term planning.

New Course Selection Process for 2010

All students going into grade 10, 11 and 12 have recently made their course choices for September 2010 online at STMC.  Currently adjustments are being made and academic counsellors are visiting with students making sure their selections are appropriate.  Parents will be given official notice of these selections and changes can still be made.  The goal is to have courses selected by the end of May.  If there are any questions, pleaase feel free to contact any one of the academic counsellors by phone or e-mail.
